ESTIMATE TEMPLATES - Line item with "0" quantity is visible in exported PDF. When exporting these "0" quantities should be automatically removed

We use estimate templates sometimes to add many line items for our technicians to then choose the right ones to use for the job in question. Rather than having to delete the ones we don't use it would be good if all "0" quantity line items were removed when exported. This would make our estimates more comprehensive and save us time.

Fawn Kite that's interesting!
Do you mind me asking why do you add these line items to the estimate if you don't want them to appear in the export?

Maxime Teissier line items always get missed off estimates!
I want the ability to add a list of line items to sections of the estimate with ‘0’ quantity so the technician can add if necessary. These would be line items that could easily be left off. E.g. Risk assessment, RCD plugs for drying equipment

Fawn Kite thanks for the explanation!
In our previous estimator, we offered a feature that allowed users to mark items as "optional."
Would it be helpful if you could: (1) mark items as optional, and (2) choose whether these items are displayed in the PDF export? Would this address your needs effectively?
I feel like using the quantity to define is a line item must appear or not in the PDF export is a logic that might not be straightforward without explanation for everyone.

Maxime Teissier If i could include line items marked as optional in templates and then choose if these items are displayed in PDF then YES it would work for our need

Well received Fawn Kite!
This seems like the approach we'll take.
I've submitted the feature request, but I can't provide a timeline for its completion yet.
In the meantime, a possible workaround is to create an initial estimate without optional items, duplicate it, and then add the optional line items to the duplicate. This way, you'll have both versions.
As always, thank you for your feedback and patience! The team is working hard to include all the features you need in the product for 2025!
