Ekahau is a wireless heatmapping software able to use DXF files to import floorplans with the following layer types:
-Hidden

-Wall, Brick (10.0 dB)
-Wall, Cinder Block (5.0 dB)
-Wall, Dry (3.0 dB)
-Wall, Dry, Hollow (2.0 dB)
-Window, Interior (1.0 dB)
-Window, Thick (3.0 dB)
-Elevator Shaft (30.0 dB)
-Cubicle (1.0 dB)
-Door, Thin (2.0 dB)
-Bookshelf (2.0 dB)
-Door, Solid Wood (6.0 dB)
-Door, Hollow Wood (4.0 dB)
-Door, Interior Office (4.0 dB)
-Door, Steel Fire/Exit (13.0 dB)
-Door, Steel Rollup (11.0 dB)
-Marble (6.0 dB)
-Unknown (0.0 dB)
-Network Cabling (0.0 dB)
-Shelf, Retail (5.0 dB)
-Shelf, Warehouse (27.0 dB)
Currently, Magicplan DXF exports individual layers like doors and windows into a group called "Layer 0"
The following is a list of unsupported features present in certain CAD drawings/layers and may not import when using the particular CAD with Ekahau AI Pro:
  1. An object is tied to multiple layers and thus rendering those layers unusable by Ekahau Pro. This is generally present in CAD drawings which include, but is not limited to, pipe line going through floors, electrical lines present throughout layers etc.
  2. Layers without a Poly-object, poly-gon, poly-line or poly-circle. These are the basis for which the Wall Outlining Wizard allows you to configure as a wall (such as drywall or brick wall)
  3. The layer is either “hidden” or “frozen”. This will render that specific layer not able exported/printed and thus cannot be seen by other programs like Ekahau AI Pro
  4. A layer is locked and also cannot be exported/printed. This will render a layer unable to be used in other software such as Ekahau AI Pro
  5. A layer which contains externally referenced “fonts” or “line types”. These
  6. An "Empty" layer. Some CAD creating programs such as Draftsight allow for your to have a "layer" in the file that is not object oriented and does not contain any data particular to poly-objects. As such, Ekahau AI Pro cannot import layers which do not have significance to the actual map section that is being imported.
  7. If the "color" of an object is not visible in against a white background, it cannot be seen in the ESS layer either.
We would like full compatibility with Ekahau AI Pro so we can import the floor plans and match layers to improve workflow between the applications instead of manually drawing all of the walls, doors, windows, etc.
