Collaborate on a project

It's great when several people have access to a project via the app at the same time (e.g. project managers and various tradesmen who are on construction sites one after the other). In principle, it would also be sufficient if the other employees' projects were at least displayed on the app version so that you can assign the projects to yourself for editing with one click.

It would be useful if all users on an account could edit an estimate without having to reassign from one to another.

Change Project Assignee from app

It would be nice to have the possibility to edit the project assignee via the app directly and not only in the magicplan Cloud.

Can’t view my team's projects on iPad

I am able to click a filter and see all my team's projects on the web browser, but on the app I cannot see their projects to offer help or assistance when they are making plans in the field.

Customize roles and permissions

Dynamic Mollusk
Hi Magicplan team,
I've taken a closer look at the current role and authorization structure within the workspace.
In principle, the separation between team member, team admin and workspace admin is understandable. In practice, however, we currently see a gap between the normal team member and the admin level.
Although a normal team member can see existing projects, they can only continue working with them to a very limited extent. The admin level, on the other hand, already offers very far-reaching rights, which are far too extensive for operational employees in the field.
From our point of view, an additional intermediate role would therefore be useful, for example a kind of “project editor” or “extended user.”
In our opinion, this role could include the following rights:
• View existing projects within the workspace
• duplicate existing projects
• create a copy of a project for your own editing
• Edit floor plans, rooms, notes, and project data within this copy
• Enable operational further processing without interfering with the original project structure
From our point of view, the following would be important:
The original file or original project must remain unchanged at all times. An employee should not be able to directly overwrite, change or damage a colleague's original floor plan or an existing project.
This would be particularly important in the case of complex floor plans with dimensions, areas and dimensional chains in order to avoid errors or unintentional changes.
For example, an employee could simply copy an existing project and continue working on it, while the origin remains with the creator and is still comprehensible.
In addition, it would be helpful if the original creator retained transparency or primary responsibility for the original project.
But at the same time without access to:
• Role and rights management
• Team or workspace settings
• Company profile
• global administration rights
This would be a significant added value, especially for operational teams in the field. Projects could be flexibly reused as a basis without the risk of existing floor plans, dimensions or project data being accidentally changed or overwritten.
Is there any possibility of this already being done or is an additional level of authorization planned in this direction in the future?
Thanks in advance.
Best regards
Enrico

Project collaboration and syncing
K
Kat Money
Currently, magicplan does not support real-time collaboration or live viewing of changes. Unlike tools such as Google Docs or Google Sheets, where multiple users can edit and see updates simultaneously, changes in magicplan are synced after the fact.
Real-time collaboration would be extremely helpful for workflows like mine, where my work partner and I operate from different locations and need to work on the same projects concurrently. Currently, syncing is not updating when app refreshes.

Share editable floor plans with others

It would be great if you could reasonably share your floor plans with other members. So that they have access to the floor plans and can also edit them. The existing “share” function seems somewhat bugy.

Working together on projects

Hibiscus Lobster
It would be great if you could work with several projects at the same time. The project always has to be pushed back and forth so that, in my opinion, it is not efficient. My idea would be to design it as with Microsoft, that you work together like in Excel.

More types of admin roles
E
Experienced Hummingbird
Right now there are only two admin roles. Workspace admins and team admins. A workspace admin has all rights to change the workspace, including inviting/removing users, teams, projects, settings, and so on. Team admins can only control projects and users within their team.
It would be very helpful if we could have different types of admin roles, so we can assign different people to only be in charge of certain jobs. For example:
Project admin: someone who has the authority to create/delete/reassign projects for the workspace and for the users, but not invite/remove users or change teams and such
User admin: someone who has the authority to invite and delete users, but not change projects, teams and such
When working with a large workspace with many users this is absolutely necessary because we need multiple people to be in charge of different tasks to help manage the workspace. Being able to assign one or multiple admin roles to one user would help with better control of the workspace.
