Manually fix incomplete scans where a scan doesn’t pick up a small section of wall of where there are stairs in a room the autoscan can often fail, the ability to bring the scanned walls in and just complete the room in the editor would be really helpful

Incomplete room is not showing at all

I am trying to scan a room which is on a mezzanine level and the fourth wall overlooks the ground floor so the scanner tells me that it is incomplete and do I want to save anyway so I say yes obviously and yet it does not show up at all. I have tried this several times and I get the same results of no scan at all…

Hi everyone, please note that incomplete rooms (which appear in orange lines) are not transferred over from the AR scan into the floor plan Editor. You can find out more about how the scan works in detail here: https://help.magicplan.app/auto-scan-your-floor-plan

Susanne Reich that is really terrible... maybe there is some way around this, but if I am doing a property which is a 1 hour drive away, and am being paid next to nothing for doing the scan, having to do it manually, from scratch, is just not viable at all. Can one combine the Lidar mode with the Room mode, where I can tap on the boundaries of the room that will not work with Lidar, for example when there is an open ended mezzanine level, and the open end causes the Lidar scan to fail?

Quail Alpaca: I can understand your frustration. We are already working on an improved version of the AR scan which will reduce the number of cases where a room cannot be closed by the underlying algorithm. Please stay tuned and follow this post for further updates. Sorry for the trouble!

This would be very useful especially when dealing with large hallway/complicated spaces/rooms
