Request: I would love to be able to create a simple and adjustable 2D kitchen layout. (The ability to draw and then adjust the dimensions and shapes in floor plan view.
Kitchen island shapes are hard to get accurate and impossible to adjust.
Maybe an adjustable kitchen island shape would go some way to fixing this issue.
It’s quicker to print out and sketch in than use the current tools that can’t be adjusted once added. Actually it’s quicker to draw old school with pencil and graph paper.
It’s understandable the direction magicplan is going however as a real estate photographer/floor planner I came to magic plan years ago for the simple floor plans. I have no need for it interest in 3D options. Finished magic plans are not up to the standard that my market requires so I outsource the drawing and styling of floor plans. I just need a quick simple and effective way of drawing the shape and size of countertops to pass on to my team.

Hi everyone. Are you aware of the kitchen island object available today? Does this help? If not, how should it be improved?

Bernd Wolfram:
Thanks for that. I am so thankful for the question! Unfortunately it still doesn't quite work for me.
A little more background - My aim is 2d floor plans with a quick kitchen counter top layout and not necessarily a 3d outcome or even an island bench - just shapes against the walls. I currently lay out cabinets or the set Island bench and resize/reshape them and butt them together. From there I either edit the pdf to remove the joins.
"Edit Corners" goes close but we are still guessing at dimensions.
Currently (and please correct me if I'm missing something) you can move corners but with no way of inputting the correct measurements?
I would like to see is the ability to reshape and size just like you would with a non-square/rectangular room). eg start with a box shape, add corner points that you can move/push pull etc and then MOST IMPORTANTLY to be able to select and set the exact dimension either manually or with BT Laser. Then rotate and position them like a cabinet from the library.
It would also be amazing to have the ability add a curve handle on a length that you could pull out and a radius input to give a decent curve (That would be spectacular on a wall too!)
Is any of this possible?

Tawny Capybara: Thank you for your feedback! The capabilities you're looking for are not available today. We do see the value in adding them, though!
The team is tied up in a big project for the rest of the year. I will make sure we address this in 2024. Sorry we can't react fast to your feature request!
