Feature Requests

It would be nice if, when building a dining table and chairs to view in 2d, you don’t have to make the table 4’ tall to show the chairs under the table. For example, if my chair is 36” tall (measuring the back of the chair not the seat) and the table is 30” tall (typical height of a dining table) the chairs appear on top of the table instead of under. Can the table know that a chair will sit under it like the kitchen island does? If you adjust the dimensions so that the 2d looks correct than the 3d look wonky because the table is too high.

I would like the ability to copy objects from one room to another. This would make it easier & faster to edit floor plans instead of having to click into the object menu and search for it again.

Could you add a "wall insulation" object/layer ? This is often compulsory to add insulation to some walls (or ceilings) in renovation projects. In particular external walls. It modifies the thickness of the walls inside the buildings, hence the usable surface. It can be 20cm thick altogether... Sometimes even more.

Please add ability to make a group of objects or to select more of them when moving. It would be great to have ability of move more objects at the same time.

Would be great if you can choose the shape of an island and different features of it. Also in the furniture options there are very few sofa options and most of them not fully sizeable, also curved upholstered benches for modern curved kitchen island to incorporate a round table where there is limited space.

To get hinged doors opening in the right direction, I usually have to rotate them until they're correct. MagicPlan doesn't pick up their actual orientation very well, at the moment. It's a pain to rotate every door, every time. In the meantime, it would be helpful if the doors defaulted to the most logical orientation, because it'll be correct perhaps 75% of the time. By the most logical orientation, I mean that hinged doors USUALLY open inward (into the room), and up against the nearest wall.

I think it would be a great feature to allow users, if they wish, to submit their custom objects to a public library that could be accessible to all users. I know that there must be users who have created custom objects that others would appreciate using. Amendment: Keep in mind that adding a feature like this would save users time by not requiring them to create an object that may already exist. I would also assume it that it would save data storage for Magic Plan since you wouldn't need to store duplicate objects for each user.

The desk options are extremely limited, in the 3D rendering, it doesn’t look like a desk at all. From this,I tend to put two base cabinets on each end of a dining table to appear like a pedestal desk. it would be great to group them so i don’t have to move each piece individually or expand on the desk range.

I often find myself adding an object to a floor plan, switching to 3D, and then finding out that the look of the object is not quite what I'm going for. I then need to go back to 2D, delete the object, and repeat the process with another one. If a catalog of the 3D frontal views of all objects existed, it would be much easier to choose the right object from the get go.

We get into a lot of homes that have foyers with 45° staircases that go up halfway and then turn 45° to go to the second floor or the same scenario for going to the basement but yet there are no objects for stairs for anything 45° I would like to see 45° staircases added.
